This La Jolla wedding is one for the books. I love everything about the Christa and John’s floral garden wedding style, which takes place at Christa’s mother’s home in San Diego. Even though the wedding is in late July, Flower Child’s designs incorporate late-season peonies that bring bright pops of pink to the cloudy coastal day.
Bridal Accessories and Gown
Christa’s wedding gown is from one of my favorite designers in the industry – Pronovias. It has a beautiful texture to the material and a deep v on both the front and back. Her bridal hair is styled in loose waves, parted and pinned on one side. Her wedding shoes are white leather by Alexandre Birman. Kimberly Buffington, Flower Child’s lead designer is so kind to give me a number of flower heads for the flat lay photos. We use a giant, imported coral charm peony along with garden roses, tulips, ranunculus, and eucalyptus.
Garden Party Style
These floral bridesmaid dresses might be some of my favorite wedding styles to date! Everyone and everything look beautiful and perfectly suit the La Jolla wedding garden party style.
Poolside Ceremony
Guests are greeted with poolside cocktails and live music by Music by Desi. Christa and John exchange vows after presenting their parents, who sit front and center, with blooms of gardenia. One of John’s sisters officiates the ceremony and his other sister reads the Ancient Hawaiian Marriage Prayer.
Cocktails and Details
After a formal cocktail hour, guests join reception under thousands of twinkle lights. An abundance of flowers, greenery and candlelight top each table.
It is so nice to work with familiar faces. Many of the same wedding vendors on Christa’s team are from this La Jolla wedding in October of 2020.
