what should I wear?

Planning your outfits in advance helps make things much less stressful on the day of the shoot. I would suggest colors and textures that coordinate, but they don't necessarily have to 'match'. Try a mix of neutrals on everyone with a pop of color (or 2). Consider the location of the shoot, the colors in your home, and the season!

How can I best prepare my kids for photos?

Parents tend to stress over their kids being uncooperative at a shoot. My philosophy is that if a child wants to move around, or play, let's roll with it! The best photos are of your kids having fun! The best way to prepare them for the shoot is to tell them that I'm excited to meet them, and that it will be a fun time. Be sure to arrive early enough to find parking for your shoot and walk to the location. Make sure they've napped and are fed, or bring a treat to the shoot. Think of these portraits as 'family time' and you can't go wrong!

Will we get a print release?

Absolutely! Upon receiving your images, you will be given an unlimited personal print release. This will allow you to print with any lab you like.

We're having a family reunion. Do you travel?

Yes! I've had the pleasure of photographing extended families just a short distance from my home, to flying over to Hawaii to document a weeklong reunion. Let me know what your plans are, and I will put together a custom quote.
