Americana Wedding at Valhalla Tahoe: Sarah and Nick

Sarah and Nick’s wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. Sarah’s sister (and maid of honor), Rebecca and I have known each other for years, as our boys are friends. Last year, they hosted my family at their cabin in Zephyr Cove and I photographed Sarah and Nick’s engagement session. We are honored to have become considered as part of their extended family. Their beautiful July wedding at Valhalla Tahoe was filled with sunshine, laughter, and some of the most meaningful speeches I have witnessed. Sarah adores anything Americana, and Jenn Robirds Events designed their wedding day with lovely red, white, and blue elements.

An Invitation to Celebrate

The Americana theme began with the wedding invitations. Sarah and Nick’s invitation suite featured a classic palette of red, white, and blue, and a cut out in the shape of Lake Tahoe. Their ‘SN’ monogram and American flag stamps added charm. The theme resonated throughout the wedding day itself. From Sarah’s bouquet to Nick’s tie and pin, to the floral centerpieces and luxury linens, the theme was present.

The Indoor Ceremony: A Grand Candlelight Moment

The ceremony was inside the historic Valhalla lodge. It was filled with candlelight and fragrant flowers that were arranged on the giant fireplace. The warm glow of string lights complemented the natural wood and stone architecture. Together, these elements set a romantic tone for Sarah and Nick’s wedding ceremony.

Valhalla at Lake Tahoe offered some of the most picturesque settings for family photos. There was no shortage of beautiful landscaping and trees to use as we photographed Sarah and Nick with their favorite people.

A Celebration to Remember

As the evening went on, guests enjoyed a second cocktail hour then dined al fresco with a delicious family style dinner. Heartfelt speeches were made, laughter was shared, and games were played.

Once the dance floor opened, we took Sarah and Nick for evening photos at the lake. The deep blue color of the Lake Tahoe water is incredible! It was fun to get more romantic shots of the beautiful bride and the handsome groom before we walked back to the venue, where they danced the night away!
