This L’Auberge Del Mar wedding was the perfect way to wrap a month of August weddings throughout California. An adventure-loving couple, Tally and Rolan chose the perfect location to highlight their love of the ocean and traveling.
Fun Bridal Party Photos
Tally and Rolan’s large bridal party was a blast to be around, and photograph! I love that their bridesmaids and groomsmen were a mix of childhood friends, family, and career friends. One of my favorite moments of the day took place when I was photographing Tally’s details outside the bridal suite. Tally and her bridesmaids had an impromptu spin-the-bottle dance party out on the patio, and it gave me a great boost of energy!
A Bright Color Palette
Tally’s color palette was beautiful and well-suited to a L’Auberge Del Mar wedding along the ocean. There were lots of deep blues, mixed with yellow, pink, and orange. Tally also wore some special little details on her wedding day, including her grandmother’s ring, and her aunt’s beautiful bracelet.
Del Mar Rooftop Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the hotel’s rooftop, and it looked breathtaking. Guests were greeted with cold beverages, expansive views of the Pacific, and music from (steel drummer). The pace of the ceremony was perfect for photography. The bridal party, then Tally and her father took their time coming down the aisle. Each member of the bridal party gave Rolan a hug. It was nice to see them taking in the beauty of the wedding day.
The Perfect Location
L’Auberge Del Mar sits near one of my favorite San Diego spots – the coastline along Seagrove Park and 15th Street. My family loves to pack a picnic, check out the surf, and walk along the water. From across the street, there are incredible views of the rooftop wedding reception at dusk. Tally and Rolan had strings of lights above their reception tables, accented with greenery. It made for really lovely photos above the hotel, with the ocean in the background.
