Some weddings just feel extraordinary without a grand ballroom or hundreds of guests. Katie and Kaitlyn’s intimate summer wedding at La Jolla Country Club proved that a thoughtfully curated day, surrounded by your closest loved ones, creates the kind of memories that last a lifetime.

With colorful florals, handcrafted details by the brides, heirloom jewelry, and a long candlelit dinner beneath a draped pergola, every part of their celebration reflected who Katie and Kaitlyn are as a couple: creative, joyful, and deeply connected to the people they love.
Katie and Kaitlyn poured themselves into creating thoughtful touches throughout their celebration. For example, every guest got an embroidered ornament, and the brides crafted their wedding purses, a large letter E, and the ring pillow.

Bridal Looks That Were Effortlessly Romantic
One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing how Katie and Kaitlyn styled themselves. They did not see each other’s gowns before the wedding day, but both chose dresses that reflected their styles. Both dresses were romantic and had lace details, which complemented one another perfectly. Their bouquets echoed the ceremony florals with colorful blooms.
Both brides wore jewelry pieces from Katie’s grandmother. These treasured family heirlooms added history and sentiment to an already emotional day.

A Colorful Garden Ceremony at La Jolla Country Club
La Jolla Country Club was the perfect venue for planning a smaller wedding. Its lush grounds, sweeping golf course views, and timeless architecture feel elegant without ever feeling overwhelming.
Katie and Kaitlyn exchanged vows surrounded by vibrant summer blooms in shades of peach, coral, buttery yellow, and soft blue. Grand Floral designed arrangements featuring yellow peonies, peach calla lilies, pink dahlias, garden roses, delicate delphinium, and lush greenery. The wedding ceremony felt fresh, romantic, and joyful.

A Long Dinner Beneath a Draped Pergola
For dinner, everyone gathered together around one beautifully styled long table set under a draped pergola with twinkle lights. Bright floral centerpieces paired with colorful and vibrant napkins contrasted beautifully against the classic white linens. Cane-back chairs, layered place settings, and abundant flowers made Katie and Kaitlyn’s reception feel both elevated and relaxed.

Why La Jolla Country Club Is Perfect for Small Weddings
Couples often think country clubs are designed only for large celebrations, but LJCC is equally stunning for intimate weddings.
Katie and Kaitlyn’s smaller guest count allowed every design choice to feel intentional, from their lush florals to handcrafted details. The club has countless beautiful photo spots for portraits and expansive views. At the same time it has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that never feels too large for an intimate wedding.
