Here is a sneak peek of Kelton and Grace’s Palos Verdes wedding day, which spans 3 amazing locations. From the Hollywood Hills to the Pacific Coast in Rancho Palos Verdes, it was a beautiful celebration.
Getting Wedding Ready in Los Angeles
First, everyone prepares for the wedding day at an amazing airbnb in the Hollywood Hills. Although it is quite warm for photos, the bride and groom have fun dipping their feet in the pool.
Wayfarers Chapel Wedding
The iconic Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes is a fine art photographer’s dream. The glass chapel sits alongside the Pacific Ocean. It is located close to Terranea and Catalina View Gardens, and is perfect for Palos Verdes weddings. The bridal party poses for a few more photos before the ceremony begins.
Grace enters the chapel with a floor length cape draped behind her Enzoani gown. Photography and cinematography in Wayfarers Chapel is a little tricky. We can only stay behind the last row of pews the entire time. Also, there is no external lighting or flash photography.
Still, no one can deny the beauty of the space and its architecture. The natural light is incredible, especially in late afternoon. Following the ceremony, we are able to take a few more photos of the bride and groom in the chapel at our leisure.
Because the size of the chapel is for smaller groups, a portion of the guests watch from the reception venue via live stream. The reception takes place at another lovely space in Rancho Palos Verdes – the Pacific Unitarian Church.
The Reception Space
Flowers, candlelight and twinkle lights fill the reception space. The color palette includes tones of blush, burgundy, gold and champagne. One of my favorite moments is the cloud of dry ice that surrounds Kelton and Grace during their first dance. I did not see it coming, and it made for lovely photographs!
