Over the past few months, my heart has ached for all of my clients who have had to change their wedding details. Because of the current state of our world, many couples have had to postpone their special day due to the coronavirus pandemic. With Nasrin and Lawrence’s COVID-19 wedding plans, they were able to keep their original wedding date. However, they changed their venue in favor of a 2020 micro wedding in San Diego. Then they got ‘COVID-19-friendly’ creative with the help of their wedding planner, Giulia Events.

Having a wedding during the coronavirus pandemic

The stunning art deco home of Bridget McKenna, a kind and welcoming host, was the perfect wedding setting for Nasrin and Lawrence. They exchanged their vows with officiant Ken Hoelscher. Live music provided by Eliana Strings greeted guests as they arrived at the property. Blooms Design House created a colorful ceremonial arch among one of the home’s many gardens. The colorful floral theme continued along the set of long reception tables with a collection of candles that gave ambient lighting. As a result, guests truly enjoyed dinner and drinks from MIHO Catering.

Because it was such a special time, I had far too many favorite memories from their wedding day. For example, the way Lawrence’s mom looked at him when they would take a photo together made my heart melt. Nasrin’s mom ‘fluffing’ her veil while they were getting ready was very emotional. Lawrence feeding Nasrin mini churros from MIHO catering in the most adorable way added to the sweetness of their romance. The gorgeous off-the-shoulder lace detailing of Nasrin’s dress was to-die-for. And the cutest ring bearer stole the dessert show as he gobbled up the wedding cake!
